Tie Offs

Tie offs provide a means to connect the glovebag to the supporting structure, either an external frame or fixed structure in the work area (e.g. adjacent piping systems). An adequate number of tie offs must be provided to prevent placing excessive stress on individual tie offs, causing the fabric of the glovebag to tear

Grommet Strips

Fabric strips with attached grommets sealed to the glovebag are most effective when attaching the glovebag to a frame specifically designed for that purpose. This arrangement allows easy replacement of the glovebag and re-use of the existing frame.

Fabric Loops

Loops of fabric can be used to attach the glovebag to the frame. If the loops are provided with zippers the Glovebag can be replaced without disassembling the frame. Care must be taken to ensure that the stress is equally distributed along the loop, otherwise the fabric may tear at the ends with the most stress.

Gloved Access

Glove sleeves are normally heat sealed to the wall of the glovebag using cylindrical lap seals. The glove sleeves are flexible tubes made of .003-.012" thick material, either clear, translucent or opaque in color.

They are 16-30' long and taper from 9-10" diameter at the wall to a diameter compatible with the glove

ring (usually 5 1/4" dia.). Glove rings are used to connect the gloves to the glove sleeves. The rings are formed from rigid plastic with a groove to allow the glove to be attached using an elastic band and/or a mechanical 'hose" clamp.

Gloves used in glovebags should be compatible with the materials encountered in the glovebag.
