HEPA Inlet
Filters
Inlet HEPA
filters are used where the need for make-up air is low, filtered
make-up air is critical or the consequences of a loss of
ventilation would be extreme. Two basic types of HEPA filters
are used: small 2 cfm respirator filters and larger 30-40 cfm
canister filters.
Low
Efficiency Inlet Filters
Less efficient filters may be used when the inlet air
is not required to be of any better quality as the room air and
large volumes of make-up air are required. A 1/2 inch thick, 40
perforations per inch reticulated foam sheet can serve as an
effective filter. In this application loss of ventilation
accident will require special action to prevent contamination of
the room-.
Negative
Pressure Systems
HEPA filtered vacuum cleaners are generally used to
ventilate glovebags. Access should be provided through
appropriate service sleeves.

Liquid
Drains
For glovebags that are used to contain liquids, a
drain should be provided. The primary method of drainage is
through a drain line connected to a collection system from an
installed drain assembly.
